In the context of Programme expansion, on October, 17-20th the training for the newly formed Municipal Support Teams of Novohrad-Volynskyi, Halych and Mykolayiv was held in Ivano-Frankivsk to make them knowledgeable in procedures of operationalising UNDP/MSDP.
Agenda of the training included such items as UN System in Ukraine, UNDP and its activitiesand UNDP in Ukraine, MDGs and their implementation in Ukraine, gender, sustainable development and its principles, local agenda 21, legal provisions on local self-government, social mobilization approach, communication and motivation sessions, community profile preparation, area selection, іnstitutional development, participatory planning and prioritization, implementation of plans, resource mobilization, monitoring, public auditing and reporting.
To expose the participants to practical aspects of the concepts and procedures, they were taken to the project implementation sites of MSDP in Ivano-Frankivsk, where they interacted with the local community organizations about their experience (see the photo above).
Upon this training, the community mobilisers will be selected and Municipal Support Teams will be finalized in the new partner municipalities, who will afterwards launch the Programme activities in their cities.
