Rivne, 27 December: In context of joint Project “Every Drop Matters” (EDM) of UNDP and “Coca-Cola Ukraine” company, the official inauguration of rehabilitated water spring and newly created recreation zone was held. Owing to the efforts of the Civil Society Organisation “Ecodim” of school №19, more than 1000 residents of the micro rayon will have access to water of high quality.
The spring was rehabilitated with joint efforts and financial contribution of the SCO “Ecodim” of school № 19, Rivne City Council and UNDP Project “Municipal Governance and Sustainable Development Programme” in context of the Project EDM with financial support of “Coca-Cola Ukraine” company (TM BonAqua).
The participants of the official inauguration ceremony included the pupils of the school № 19 ( SCO of the school initiated spring rehabilitation), representatives of UNDP in Ukraine, Rivne City Council and its executive committee, contractor company and mass media representatives.
After spring official inauguration, the pupils organised a concert at school № 19 and the representatives of UNDP awarded the certificates on participation in the training on rational usage of water resources and T-shirts with the logos.
The pupils have seen an example of how the adults solve global problems at the local level with joint efforts. Also, they have received the guidelines to continue in future such initiatives for sustainable development and preservation and rational usage of natural resources.
