Rubizhne (Luhansk region), January: Department for Local Initiatives of Rubizhne City Council held a wide awareness campaign dedicated to the preservation of water resources. The campaign was conducted in context of "Every Drop Matters" the joint Project of UNDP and "Coca-Cola Ukraine" (TT «Bonaqua”). As part of awareness campaign "Drop to drop - the future for a man" the pupils, students, parents and teachers have learned to treat city water resources more carefully. An interesting video was created which calls on to treat water more efficiently.
The main purpose of the municipal programme “Drop to drop - the future for a man" is to raise awareness on the preservation of water resources by Rubizhne community, to help everyone realize their involvement in the problem of preservation and restoration of water resources of Ukraine, help participants form a way of life aimed at sustainable development.
The campaign included the following activities:
- Ecological research game "Water! How much in this sound“ (more than 400 participants including students, parents and teachers).
- Regional scientific-practical conference " Drop to drop - the future for a man " (more than 50 participants including students, teachers and students).
- Children's holiday, (110 participants, children from kindergartens and teachers).
- Urban competition for children "Me and good water" (180 participants, students).
- City competition to design a calendar, "Water - the source of life."
- Publication of collections of children's drawings, "Me and the good water."
- 15-minute video about the rational attitude towards water resources. The video can be reviewed at the link.
In 2012 the project will conduct the competition for supporting similar information campaigns in other partner municipalities.
