On the first day the municipal coordinators and representatives of the partner cities learned about the UNDP/MGSDP areas of activities for the year 2012. Iryna Skaliy, Project Manager ofUNDP/MGSDP presented the Project action plan for the year 2012. The men and women participating in the conference spoke about the partner cities plans aimed at the implementation of   community and city projects of local development for the year 2012. Leonid Tulovskiy, Quality Management officer spoke about the novelties in the legislation on ACMH, and the specifics of community projects support in 2012.  Lidiya Movchan,  the Project Financial Assistant, and Olexandra Yudina Administrative Assistant  reported about the financial and administrative aspects related to completion of the current phase of UNDP/MGSDP implementation. Olena Ursy, expert on governance and sustainable development presented the Action plan for the governance and sustainable development cluster, and potentialities of municipal governance innovation and knowledge management projects for sustainable development of the cities. Olga Osaulenko, Local Development Specialist, informed about the   potentialities and prospects for “Each drop matters” project.  Presented to the participants also were the priorities and communication events action plans of the Project for the year 2012.   

 

At the end of the day,  a solemn ceremony was held where Iryna Skaliy, UNDP/MGSDP Project Manager,  emphasized the  achievements  that  UNDP/MGSDP  municipal  support units  in the partner cities  demonstrated over the completed period of  Project  implementation,   and handed over the  merits certificates to  such units   representatives.
 

In the second day of the conference-training   the participants   took part  in the training  «Technologies for effective public speaking »,  which was held by Ihor  Suschenko, executive director  of  NGO «Teachers for democracy and partnership.» In the course of this training the participants learned how to present the purpose and the topic of their speech, arouse the interest of the audience, speak in the convincing manner, present a well founded argument, speak in front of the challenging audience and answer difficult questions.   

 

On the last day of conference-training the participants were learning how to implement the municipal governance innovation projects using the social mass media outlets.  As training moderator acted Olena Ursu, UNDP/MGSDP expert on governance and sustainable development, and Denis Hurkiy, Internews Network was the presenter. The participants  gained knowledge about the ways to  maximize the benefits  of the social mass media outlets,  the models as to how the social mass media outlets may be used to enhance the public  transparency and accountability  ( information  exchange,  crowd sourcing,  projects «crowd – community »)  and  were informed  about the  contest of social ideas called the Innovation Lab.
